6 Workshops: Art, Cooking, Drama, Game, Mission, and Movie
Features: the Isaiah 9: 6-7 Prophecy
There was a BIG MYSTERY throughout the Bible. People tried to figure out WHO was going to be the Messiah and save God's people. Kids explore the "secret code names" for the Messiah as prophesied in Isaiah 9:6-7: Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace, and Savior. Through this Christmas unit, the children will explore the code names that were fulfilled at Jesus' birth and explore what those names mean to them personally today.
A pillowcase sponge stamping art project can be used by the children to talk to their Wonderful Counselor. Cooking "Mighty Extraordinary Baked Alaska" helps illustrate how Jesus, as their Mighty God, can keep them cool in hot situations. Through a scriptless drama, children learn to take their worries to their Everlasting Father. During the "Sheep Pen Game" the children learn to follow their Savior. A special story on peace helps children know Jesus as the Prince of Peace in the Mission Workshop. A movie helps children understand how prophesies were fulfilled in Jesus. As a special enhancement, each class of children will get their very own Detective Board. Each week, they will review Jesus' birth story, hunt for prophecies, and post them to the board. Includes: Intergenerational Ministry Project Idea and Spiritual Journal Booklet
