About Us

Joyce Claus, M.Ed. Joyce is the curriculum writer, editor, and educational expert who integrates the theological concepts into creative activities for all the workshops for Potter's Publishing. Joyce has 26 years of elementary education experience, a Master's degree in curriculum and instruction and has been an adjunct instructor and curriculum developer in education at the university level. Joyce was one of the originators of the workshop rotation model in the Chicago area and was essential in connecting the Multiple Intelligence Theory and multidimensional learning to the Workshop Rotation Model in its early stages of development in 1990. She has presented workshops at the national conference on Workshop Rotation Model in Chicago since 1997 and numerous seminars around the country. Prior to her move to Morris, IL, Joyce and her husband, Rev. Dr. J. Robert Claus were among the initial developers of the Workshop Rotation Model in 1989 at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights, IL.

The Rev. Dr. J. Robert Claus, D.Min. Bob is the theological consultant for Potter's Publishing. Bob provides the theological direction for each rotational unit and writes the theological understandings. Bob is the pastor at First Presbyterian Church of Morris, Illinois. Bob first developed the Workshop Rotation Model at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Arlington Heights, Illinois in 1989. Bob's passion in ministry is for people to come alive in the Spirit. Bob's experience in Children's Ministry has led to his doctoral thesis: The Workshop Rotation Model: Toward a New Educational Approach.

Jill Bennett, Writer, Editor, CMA Seminar Presenter Jill writes, co-edits, and and designs creative ideas for The Potter's Workshops curriculum. She has presented workshops at the national conference on Workshop Rotation Model since 2000 and numerous seminars around the country. (See Seminar Schedule for upcoming seminars). She has been the Children's Ministries Director at Southminster Presbyterian Church, Arlington Heights, IL. Her creative implementation of the Workshop Rotation Model has doubled the attendance at Southminster and led children to a deeper spiritual faith in Christ. Jill has formatted the curriculum she writes to be practically used by Christian Ed directors as we as teachers. Jill's journalism and production background includes experience in radio, television, newspaper, video, and desktop publishing. Jill's love of drama has led her to develop "Scriptless Drama," a formula for children that is unique to The Potter's Workshops curriculum.

Jill especially appreciates and loves working with her parents, Bob and Joyce Claus, on The Potter's Workshops curriculum.
